I’m continuing my 2016 holiday gift guides today with a holiday gift guide for her. All of these gift ideas are items I use myself all the time and/or have gifted to close family members. I’ve listed the gift items roughly in price order. There is a large price range here with something for everyone.
Glass nail file with high-quality polish
A glass nail file is so much nicer to use than a regular nail file. Pair the gift with a set of high-quality base coat, nail polish, and gel top coat. Currently, my preferred base is an OPI 3-in-1 and preferred gel top coat is the Essie Gel Setter. Complete the gift with an OPI or Essie polish. All of the Essie winter 2016 colors are fabulous. Bath and Body Works travel hand sanitizer
I know, I clearly haven’t moved past 2003. Bath and Body Works hand sanitizer is a completely unoriginal gift idea in 2016, but it’s still well received. I always give the women in our immediate families travel hand sanitizer. Most of them work with kids daily and/or ride public transportation daily, and as such, are always in need of more sanitizer by the time the holidays roll around again. You can buy multiple travel packs and travel sanitizer holders online and individual travel sanitizers and holders in store.
PaperMate InkJoy pens
I’ve always been a little obsessed with finding great pens, but gel click pens have been a game changer. My newest favorite is the recently released PaperMate InkJoy. My other current gel pen go-to is the Pilot G2. If you’re looking for even more gel click pen varieties, you can’t go wrong with the Uni-ball Signo line.
TreeWool pillow covers
I recently purchased new throw pillow inserts (first time since college, way overdue), got rid of my old faded worn covers, and am slowly picking up new covers that I can switch out for different seasons and holidays. Covers take up so much less storage space than pillows. Courtney tipped me off to searching Amazon for pillow covers. TreeWool offers beautiful, durable pillow covers in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and sizes for less than $20 per pair. Pictured: damask, ikat triangle, ringo, and octaline.
Adult coloring book with crayons
A friend gave me this coloring book for my most recent birthday, which is so me it’s a little scary. I have some amazing friends. There are so many great coloring books out there now. It’s a little overwhelming. Of course, I have to mention Alisa Burke. Don’t forget to include some crayons, too. Who doesn’t get excited about a big box of Crayolas?
Bread and Wine by Shauna Niequest
Bread and Wine is a must read for modern women. It’s rare to find someone who speaks so honestly about real topics ranging from marriage to infertility to spirituality without coming off as preachy or judgmental. I found myself nodding along with at least one or two points in every chapter.
Japanese Cherry Blossom candle
The Japanese Cherry Blossom candle is another not particularly original gift idea but still a classic. I’ve had a handful of favorite Bath and Body works scents over the years, but I always come back to Japanese Cherry Blossom. It’s sweet without being overpowering or overly sugary. Watch for half off deals on the 3-wick candles.
Nature’s Wick Candle
My other go-to candles are Nature’s Wick. I’ve always found them at Target, but you may be able to pick them up elsewhere, too. The real wood wick sounds just like a crackling bonfire. My absolute favorite scent is apple tree. I also like white linen and vanilla dolce.
Artifact Uprising Wood Block + Prints
I already mentioned the Artifact Uprising Wood Block + Prints in my gift guide for photographers. But I had to mention it at least one more time this holiday season. Artifact Uprising has some of the most beautiful, professional, unique photo products that you’ll find anywhere right now. The wood block and prints is simple and versatile, perfect for virtually anywhere in a home or office.
Grace and Lace Perfect Fit Tank
You can never have too many tank tops. I’ve been following Grace and Lace since their original Shark Tank airing. Grace and Lace’s original socks and boot cuffs and their perfect fit tanks are still my favorite items. Perfect fit tanks are long and layer well under clothes or can be worn on their own, making them a versatile staple for every season. If you’re petite like me, check out their new shorter length perfect fit tanks.
Grace and Lace boot cuffs
Boot cuffs are the perfect way to dress up skinny jeans and tall boots. Add a fitted jacket and suddenly an average outfit becomes pulled together and polished. I love Grace and Lace boot cuffs more than any other boot cuffs I’ve seen in the last few years. I have more of their boot cuffs than I like to admit. My favorites include all of their snowflake patterns (pictured: red/cream) and their red/navy plaid, all of which are under the patterned boot cuffs.
Target Magda Lace Up Boots
I have already mentioned the Target Women’s Magda Lace Up With Full Zip Tall Boots a couple times on this blog. I have both the brown and black and love them so much. They required zero breaking in, and I can (and do) wear them everywhere. I absolutely love the full lace up aesthetic with the convenience of the zippered side.
I got a shorter version of this pearl necklace about six years ago. It’s been my most worn necklace ever since. Much like the boot cuffs and fitted jacket, adding pearls to an outfit instantly takes it up a notch. I wear them for everything from family birthday parties to church to Broadway shows. I also picked up a faux vintage pearl necklace for a Derby Day party earlier this year from ThatchandStone, which I really love, too.
Daniel Wellington watch
I talked a little bit about my Daniel Wellington watch back in the fall. I was a little concerned about the fit because the NATO straps are long and my wrist is slender. But it isn’t a big deal at all. This watch is so comfortable. Never have to adjust it, forget I’m wearing it comfortable. And I love that it’s so easy to switch out the straps, which will inevitably wear out before the watch. I have the Classy Winchester 26mm (rose) and an extra Classy 26mm band (rose).
Dooney and Bourke bag
I’ve had a Dooney and Bourke bag very similar to the one pictured above for over three years now. I love this size bag. I use my Dooney and Bourke purse 4-5 days out of the week, if not more. It goes everywhere with me unless I’m taking my camera bag or need a more formal bag. It’s still in great shape, just very minimal signs of wear around the edges.
