After such a fantastic October, I was simply hoping to maintain that level of traffic for the remainder of 2018. I had no idea that I’d have a much much better traffic month in November. While there haven’t been any huge spikes this month, there are a few factors that have contributed to the overall increase in traffic.

  • Since my October Pinterest spike for my shower cleaning post, I’ve had increased traffic on this post from Pinterest.
  • In March 2017, Finest 10 published a bathroom cleaning hacks post, which includes the above mentioned shower cleaning post. I do get occasional hits from this post but nothing significant. Since mid-November, Finest 10 has had this post in rotation feature for their home page, which has brought in as much as 70 hits some days.
  • I’ve had a few seasonal/holiday posts that have done well lately, most notably Non-Alcoholic Drinks for Thanksgiving (which gets hits almost every day but definitely peeks in October and November) and DIY Paper Lights Christmas Decoration (which will hopefully continue to get solid traffic through most of December).

There are two primary methods I’m using to achieve my page views goal, which are as follows.

Reach 4,000 Pinterest followers.

To reach 4,000 Pinterest followers by the end of the year, I need to gain 138 new followers monthly or 4-5 followers daily. My November benchmark was 3,855 followers. My actual November total was 3,536 followers.

November is the second month in 2018 that I not only hit, but exceeded, my monthly target (I gained 178 followers). Of course, after months of not hitting my target, I’m still falling short of my monthly benchmark. At this point, I’m hoping to end the year around 3,700-3,750 followers.

While not amazing followers growth, I’ve seen so much growth in monthly viewers and monthly engagement that I’m still very happy with my progress on Pinterest thus far in 2018. I never imagined that I’d crack the one million mark for monthly viewers with this number of followers.

I’m keeping up with my 2018 Pinterest strategies, which are as follows:

  • Schedule my own blog content and content from other bloggers via Tailwind. Currently, I’m just under two months out for scheduling general shares.
  • Manage my photography group board.

Publish one article per week on Constant Content.

In November, I published the following articles on Constant Content.

The final three articles are still under review and not yet listed for purchase.

I had two sales in November, How to Keep Your Pets Safe During the Holidays (a September title) and How to Get Your Garage Ready for Winter (an October title), for a total of $104.00.

As I’d worked so hard on scheduling blog content in October, I was able to put a lot into Constant Content this month. As I’ve talked about before, clearly, I failed to establish consistency in publishing this year, which was a big part of the goal. But if I can keep at it in December like I did in November, I’ll still end the year fairly strong for total content published.

Paint and decorate nursery #2.

As I’m completely done with nursery #2 and won’t have any major updates on 2018 back burner projects until 2019, I’m going to skip over this goal for the last few months of the year.

Finish editing my Europe photos, and keep up with current editing.

To meet this goal, I need to edit a little over 90 photos per month through the end of the year. For the second month in a row, I’m up to date with my Europe editing. Yes, up to date! As such, I’m on track to finish out my final 90ish photos and wrap up my Europe editing in December.

I published Gibraltar right at the beginning of November and then wrapped up the month with Cartagena. I’ll finish out my Europe editing and posts next month with Ibiza and the Vatican.

I got through my November Europe edits about halfway through the month, which left me with a lot of time to catch up on other photo editing and backing up. I’m completely caught up with backing up through early September. With just a few exceptions, I’ve edited everything through mid-November except for the Montana and DC trips. I’m going to focus on backing up as much as possible in December.

Read 36 books.

My November total was 4 books, bringing my 2018 total to 58 books. I’ve already met my reading goal for 2018. But I’m not slowing down my reading pace and am still sharing my reads here and in my bi-monthly reading posts.

In November, I listened to:

In November, I read:

I don’t have any re-reads for November, as I went right into The Return of the King after finishing The Two Towers. Most likely I’ll finish out the Harry Potter series after the holidays.

I’ll have a what I read post for the past couple of months up later this week. Stay tuned!

  1. Considerations for Renovating a Condo, sounds interesting. I live in/own a condo and I renovated my kitchen in October and they are working on the master bath as I type.
