DIY easy St. Patrick’s Day decor ideas make it simple to decorate your home for the upcoming holiday without breaking the bank.
We’re more than a full week into March already! (Are you sick of people saying that? Or can you relate completely?) The only reason I’ve had a few decorations up for St. Patrick’s Day since the beginning of the month is because I made them last year. There is still more than enough time to put together a few simple decor pieces for the upcoming holiday. I’m sharing my St. Patrick’s day decor and then a few other DIY easy St. Patrick’s Day decor ideas.
I switch up the set of four canvas wall art pieces in our entryway periodically for different seasons and holidays. Of course, I cannot find the template I used for my shamrocks, but there are lots of free printable shamrock templates online. When I grab a new template for a craft or home decor project, I create a cardboard set that I can use over and over again for future decor projects, greeting cards, etc.
I also switch up the open frame in the entryway. Depending on the holiday, sometimes I’ll add a few pieces or switch up the pieces on the console table for the holiday as well.
I bought the rubber ducks for my shamrock-shaped bokeh tutorial. I punched (similar) the tiny shamrocks for a little photoshoot with the ducks that I shared on Instagram a couple of years ago. I already had the green glass. The small votives were a seasonal item at Crate and Barrel, and I got the green Ball jars on clearance at Michaels. Usually, I have an assortment of colored glass in the entryway, but I switched it to all green for St. Patrick’s Day.
The only time I display a wreath on the front door is for Christmas. I’d really love to start making wreaths for other seasons and holidays. I absolutely love this clothespin wreath from Patti Allan on Celebrations.com.
I love all things buttons, so Danielle’s button shamrock is right up on my alley. The shamrock she created is so cheery with its bright buttons. Check out the tutorial at A Sprinkle of Joy.
Book pages are such a simple, whimsical material for creating all sorts of home decor. Pairing them with shamrocks and a little button detail for St. Patrick’s Day is perfect. Rebecca has the tutorial on Simple As That.
Finally, subway art is such a simple, affordable way to rotate your decor in just a couple of minutes. There are numerous free printable St. Patrick’s Day subway art designs available. I’m featuring one from Jamie on Eighteen 25.

Aw, I love all this stuff! The frames are my favorite. I can’t wait to decorate again once I move. Counting down the days.. : )
I love the image for that banner! And your open frame is always so cute. I definitely haven’t decorated for St. Pat’s at all this year. It’s really not a big thing here in Hawaii!
