May at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum

Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum, Milwaukee, WI | https://www.roseclearfield.com

The Italian Renaissance-style Villa Terrace was constructed on a stunning bluff above Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, WI. It was built in 1924 for the Lloyd R. Smith Family. Since 1966, the house and grounds have been home to the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum. The home is a stunning example of Italian Renaissance architecture, complete with a patio overlooking the lake and fountains and a sprawling garden extending down the bluff and into the vast backyard. It’s always a beautiful place to visit, truly an underrated gem in Milwaukee.

How to Drive More Traffic to Your Blog with Flipboard

How to Drive More Traffic to Your Blog With Flipboard | https://www.roseclearfield.com

Flipboard is an often overlooked but very powerful platform for increasing traffic to your blog. The program compiles content from news feeds, blogs, social media sites, photo sharing sites, and more, and then presents it to users in a magazine format in which they can “flip” through the articles, photos, and videos. Users also have the option to like content and save it in their own magazines.

If you’re looking for another platform to share your blog that’s easy to use and requires just a minute or so of your time each day, I highly recommend checking out Flipboard and learning how to drive more traffic to your blog with Flipboard.

Spring Inspiration

I’m finishing out my spring inspiration posts with another flower-heavy edition. I know that it’s been a bit of a flower overboard on the blog lately. Shockingly (not), I love spring. Few things make me happier than green grass, flowers everywhere, and the days getting longer. And then it’s summer! I’m so psyched to start sharing summer inspiration, which I may or may not have been collecting on Pinterest for a couple of months already. But today, it’s a final round of colorful, largely floral inspiration. Check out all of my spring picks on my spring photography Pinterest board.

A Stormy Day at the Beach

Stormy Beach Early May 2017 | https://www.roseclearfield.com

It’s not a secret that I love the not so perfect days at the beach just as much (maybe even more?) than the perfect days at the beach. Through April and into the first part of May, we’ve had quite a bit of rain. The trick is capturing the sky while it’s stormy without getting poured on. I’m still hoping to see another rainbow on one of these intermittent rainy days. But I did see it raining over the water, which is always neat. I’m sure those of you who live in rural areas and see active rain clouds in the distance all the time find that funny. But for a city girl, it’s still something of a novelty.

Plus these clouds. I may or may not have decided to take pictures just because of the clouds.
