One Year of Olivia

Olivia

This past week our Olivia turned one year old.

Here’s to the best first year imaginable with our little lady Olivia. The baby that it seemed like we waited for the longest. The light at the end of the long tunnel that was 2020. I know that this is the biggest cliche, but she really did feel like the missing piece in our family puzzle. The perfect balance for me, Jake, and Tommy. Once I had a boy, I never imagined that I’d have a girl. Olivia flipped that idea completely upside down. Now I can’t imagine my life without this little lady in it.

Olivia has a super sweet personality and is generally so happy. As long as her needs are met, she remains in such a good disposition most of the time. Olivia is very clear about what she wants, is not a pushover, and is determined to do as much as she can independently. When she gets her mind set on something, she won’t let it go. Olivia remains crazy about her big brother Tommy. She has always been a mama’s girl but loves her daddy so much, too.

One of the toughest things about being able to adopt again so soon is that Olivia was my youngest for just ten and a half months. After so many years of waiting for this little girl, that time went by so quickly. I enjoyed every single day of her being my only baby. I am glad she’ll still be little for a while longer and look forward to watching her grow up with Genevieve.

We are so thankful every single day for Olivia’s birth mom. We are beyond grateful for her selfless love, choosing us to parent Olivia alongside Tommy, and her continued involvement, watching Olivia grow with us.

We have had so much fun watching Olivia come into her own this year and develop her unique personality. We can’t wait to see what the next year holds and many many years beyond that. Happy birthday, Olivia!
