Free printable vintage Valentine’s Day postcards make easy holiday wall art for any budget. They’re also perfect for art/junk journals, decoupage, and numerous DIY projects.
I’ve put together a collection of 16 free printable vintage Valentine’s Day postcards. The hand-drawn and hand-painted illustrations and whimsical embossed details on antique postcards are beautiful and unlike anything new produced today. Vintage postcards make quick holiday home decor. They can also be used for a vast array of craft projects, including but not limited to, art/junk journals, scrapbooks, greeting cards, decoupage, stationery, gift tags, magnets, pendant necklaces, and tile coasters.
Printable vintage Valentine’s Day postcard sizes
I’m offering the printable postcards in the following sizes.
- Original size (3.5″ x 5.5″). All of the Valentine’s Day postcards are standard size, which measures 3.5″ x 5.5.” Downloading the postcards in their original size gives you full creative control to use the images as is or to crop and size them exactly as you need for various home decor and DIY projects.
- 4×6. I’ve formatted all of the postcards in their original size with white borders for easy 4×6 printing and framing. Through personal experience, I’ve found that this is the simplest way to print them both at home and through print services, using standard paper sizes.
- 8×10. I’ve also formatted all of the postcards to 8×10 format, as I know that many people arrive at this post looking for free Valentine’s Day wall decor in 8×10 size to display in frames. Again, the 8×10 formats have white borders. I’ve found that adding the borders makes it simple and stress-free to find frames with or without mats that work well without significantly changing the original aspect ratio of the postcards.
Following the individual postcard downloads, I have the following downloads available.
- A set of 8.5″ x 11″ pages with multiple original size postcards per page. For your convenience for DIY purposes, I’ve made a set of 8.5″ x 11″ pages with two or three postcards on each page. The 8.5″ x 11″ pages save you the hassle of printing every single postcard individually and make it easy to print the postcards at home or via a printing service on standard size paper.
- A set of ATC-size digital collage sheets. ATC-size crops (2.5″ x 3.5″) are sized for standard artist trading cards. They also work well for endless craft projects where you’d prefer smaller, more detailed illustrations as opposed to the full postcard images, such as magnets, gift tags, and greeting cards.
The postcards, 8.5″ x 11″ pages, and ATC-size digital collage sheets are all 300 dpi to ensure the highest print quality possible.
About the free printable vintage Valentine’s Day postcards
You may download and print the postcards as many times as you like for personal use, which includes classroom use. You may use the postcards for limited runs (5,000 items or less) of handmade physical items to sell (i.e., mixed media art, pillows, tile coasters). This DOES NOT include made to order sites, such as Zazzle and CafePress. You are not authorized to sell the postcard images themselves as prints, only the items you create with them.
You may use the postcards for limited runs (5,000 items or less) of handmade digital items as well. The sale of the download files themselves is not authorized, either as individual items or as part of larger collections. You must create original digital content using the images in order to sell it and must sell it as a flat, finished product (i.e., not Photoshop files).
