It took me over a year of living half a block from the lake to get up for a sunrise. I’m not a morning person…at all. It still seems like a sad excuse giving our close proximity to what is essentially a private stretch of beach. Like many parts of the country, we’ve experienced above normal temperatures during the end of February here in southeast WI, which made a not-too-early sunrise (~6:45 a.m.) a little more appealing. Getting up for the sunrise isn’t going to become a habit anytime soon, but it is a great way to start the day.
More Lake Michigan beach views!
I wouldn’t make a habit of it either if I had the choice, but at least it was worth it! Beautiful photos!!!
We are morning people and love to watch the sun come up. Watching the sun rise on a beach front would be even nicer.
Michigan is so beautiful. I grew up in the area and these are lovely pictures. So pretty.
I absolutely love the shots with the colors along the wet sand and rocks! So beautiful. During much of the year, I have to get up around 4 am if I want to get a bite to eat and then make it to a good sunrise spot on time. Needless to say, I don’t do it all that often!
These photos are seriously GORGEOUS. You’re lucky to live so close by – but I know what you mean. I have a river in my backyard and hardly ever get to appreciate it because my day-to-day life is so busy!
I love getting up really early, but I get when other’s aren’t “morning people”. Lucky you did, though, as these photos are gorgeous! It must be great living at the beach 🙂
Such wonderful photos! Although it must have been a little chilly standing on the shores of Lake Michigan, you got some terrific shots!
Thanks for sharing!
I certainly relate to not being a morning person! And, I lived across the Indiana line from Chicago and never made it downtown until I was 17!
Your sunrise shots are really awesome. I’m so proud of you for getting up. Don’t worry, we won’t expect sunrise shots again any time soon!
