Six Months of Tommy
Six Months of Tommy Read More »
This week our little Tommy turned five months old. We’ll get an updated weight and height at his six-month appointment.
Tommy is moving so much. He kicks his legs at every opportunity possible and loves using his foot to bounce himself in his bouncy seats. When he’s on the floor either in his activity gym or on a quilt/blanket, he often scoots himself right off the blanket or mat. He’s rolled over a couple of times on his own. He’s been rocking tummy time, staying on his tummy for 30 seconds to a minute at a time with no complaints. The past couple of weeks, he’s really started to enjoy it, giving us big smiles as he’s looking around.

Tommy turned four months old this past week.
At his four-month check-up earlier this week, he weighed in at 14 pounds 7 ounces and measured 25 inches long. His head circumference is 16.5 inches. Tommy’s numbers put him around the 25th percentile for weight and 40th percentile for height. His doctor was pleased with his growth progress, and everything else checked out well.
Tommy is well out of the newborn stage now. He does still have occasional “food coma” moments but can also polish off five ounces in a single sitting and be fully alert afterward. He no longer gets lulled to sleep by white noise (like the shower) and is so alert the entire time he’s awake. Tommy’s always been fairly alert but just grows more alert every month, focusing on new objects and faces at every opportunity.

This past week, Tommy turned three months old.
We don’t have to go back to the doctor until the four month mark, so I don’t have an updated weight and length for Tommy. He’s been right at the 50th percentile for both weight and length, which most likely puts him at 15 pounds and 24 inches long right now.
Tommy remains a super chill baby and isn’t very fussy or picky. The only things he really doesn’t like are getting his nails clipped and getting out of the bath. He loves the bath but hates getting out of it. I’m not sure what changed with the baths this past month because he was doing okay at two months. I’m hoping it’s just a phase and he’ll get better with the transition again at some point.

Three Months of Tommy Read More »
In my two months of Tommy update yesterday, I mentioned that there are a few questions I’ve answered all the time over the past couple of months. I decided to write a separate post with these questions, so my two month update didn’t great crazy long. Since we got Tommy, there are three questions I’ve gotten far more than any other questions.
