Free printable vintage birthday postcards are perfect for creating handmade DIY birthday cards, gift tags, and other customized birthday greetings for family and friends.
In truly cliched fashion, I’m bringing you a birthday-themed post on my birthday for the second year in a row. Last year I posted 10 simple DIY birthday cards. This year I’m bringing you a collection of 14 free printable vintage birthday postcards.
Vintage postcards have a unique aesthetic unlike anything you find today. It’s no secret that I love this look. I’ve already shared collections of vintage postcards for St. Patrick’s Day and Easter. Vintage birthday postcards are ideal for handmade greeting cards and other personalized birthday messages. In addition to greeting cards, the postcard images are great for gift tags, magnets, scrapbook pages, framed pieces, and more.
Printable vintage birthday postcard sizes
I’ve made the printable postcards available in the following sizes.
- Original size. Downloading the postcards in their original size gives you maximum creative control to crop and format them as you like for birthday cards, gift tags, and other DIY birthday greetings.
- 4×6. I’ve formatted all of the postcards in original size with white borders, enabling easy printing in 4×6 format. Through personal experience, I’ve found that this is the simplest way to have them printed in original size via print services (as opposed to at home). You can trim the borders to retain the original size or leave the borders for simple 4×6 framing.
- 8×10. I’ve also formatted all of the postcards to 8×10 format. If you’re interested in framing the postcards and don’t want 4×6 format, most likely you want 8×10 format. Again, the 8×10 formats have white borders. Adding white borders is the simplest way to keep the original ratio of the postcards and find frames with or without mattes that work well.
Following the individual postcard downloads, I also have the following downloads available.
- A set of 8.5″ x 11″ pages with multiple original-size postcards per page. For your convenience for greeting cards and other DIY projects, I’ve made a set of seven 8.5″ x 11″ pages with two postcards per page. These pages make it straightforward to print your postcards at home or via your favorite printing service without printing every postcard individually.
- A set of ATC-size digital collage sheets. ATC-sized crops (2.5″ x 3.5″) are ideal for artist trading cards as well as endless other craft projects where you’d like more detailed smaller images, as opposed to full postcards, such as gift tags and magnets.
The 8.5″ x 11″ pages and the ATC-size digital collage sheets are 300 dpi to ensure the highest print quality possible.
Are you in need of other formats or digital collage sheets? Please don’t hesitate to contact me! I’m happy to make more resources tailored to your specific DIY birthday projects.
