I have been very excited for the Miniature Milwaukee train show. I love all things Milwaukee. After seeing miniature Chicago  at Wonderland Express this past holiday season, I was really looking forward to Miniature Milwaukee. Although the past two train show themes were nice, I hadn’t been really excited about a train show at the Domes since The Great Train Robbery. Miniature Milwaukee didn’t disappoint.

Scrooge Holiday Floral Show at the Domes

Scrooge Holiday Floral Show at the Mitchell Park Domes, Milwaukee, WI | https://www.roseclearfield.com

The theme of the holiday floral show at the Mitchell Park Domes is a classic: Scrooge. The show takes you through a visual retelling of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, with scenes inspired by each of the ghosts who visit Ebenezer. We see the Ghost of Jacob Marley, Ghost of Christmas Past (the snow queen), Ghost of Christmas Present (a Victorianesque Santa figure), and Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (eerie bare trees in a graveyard site).

The Christmas Carol scenes are filled out with gorgeous poinsettias in all different shades. The gazebo is decked out in festive garlands and more pots filled with poinsettias and other holiday florals. The floral exhibit is complete with a stunning, gigantic decorated Christmas tree.

Yes, China Lights returned to Milwaukee for a third run of the show! I was so excited when they brought the show to the Boerner Botanical Gardens for the first time in 2016. I never expected that we’d get a second, much less a third, run of it. But China Lights continues to be a regular fall feature at the gardens. Due to its ongoing extreme popularity, I would be surprised if it doesn’t stick around for good now.
