Free printable vintage Carte Postale Christmas postcards make wonderful decor and can be used for one-of-a-kind holiday cards and numerous DIY projects!
It wasn’t enough that I created a vintage Christmas postcards collection. I also had to create a set of vintage Carte Postale Christmas postcards. I picked 12 of the cards from my Carte Postale postmarked backs set and added vintage holiday images. All of the original postcards date back to the 1940s or earlier. Many of them are from the turn of the 20th century. There are nine beige postcards and three green postcards. The vintage images include Santa, Christmas trees, kids sledding, holly branches, birds, and angels.
Vintage French Christmas postcards are ideal for easy holiday cards and wall decor. Simply print the cards as is and display them in frames or layer them together to create unique collages. Antique postcards are also perfect for endless holiday craft projects, such as digital and physical journal and scrapbook pages, gift tags, and ornaments.

About the vintage French Christmas postcards
You may use the antique holiday postcards for as many personal projects as you like, which includes classroom use. You may also use them for limited runs of commercial projects (5,000 items or less). Commercial use DOES NOT cover made-to-order sites, such as Society6 and Zazzle. Digital commercial items must consist of your own original work and be in flat, finished form (i.e., not Photoshop files). You’re not authorized to sell the postcards, either as individual items or as part of larger collections.
Finally, please don’t send anyone the postcard files directly. If family, friends, or co-workers would like their own Carte Postale postcards, please provide them with a link to this post so that they can download their own files. Vintage Carte Postale Christmas postcards
There are 12 vintage French Christmas postcards in the set. All of the postcards are in PNG format to preserve their original edges. I’ve split them between three ZIP folders. All of the postcards measure 1750 x 1117 pixels.
Please note that I’ve sized down the postcards slightly from their original scans to reduce the file size. If you’re interested in larger formats, please let me know!

I’ve put two Carte Postale Christmas postcards on each 8.5″ x 11″ page for easy printing. There are six pages total, saving you the hassle of printing each postcard on a separate piece of paper. The 8.5″ x 11″ pages are in PDF format.
Please note that I added a black border to the preview image above, as it gets confusing having lots of white space in images in blog posts. The pages in the download link below don’t have black borders.

Printing the vintage French postcards
When you’re printing antique postcards for wall art and other home decor, I recommend Finestra Art Paper or linen cardstock. Finestra Art Paper is my go-to pick for at-home wall art printing while linen cardstock re-creates the look of vintage linen postcards. It’s up to you which aesthetic you prefer.
When you’re printing antique postcards for DIY projects, I recommend regular cardstock. It isn’t as important that the images are quite as vibrant or dynamic for most craft projects. If the project involves Mod Podge, such as magnets or pendant necklaces, you won’t be able to tell any difference in the finish of the paper. As such, it makes sense to choose a paper that is less expensive but still very durable.
Again, you can purchase the original Carte Postale postmarked backs collection, which includes 20 used Carte Postale backs in both JPG and PNG format, as well as all of the cards on 8.5″ x 11″ pages for easy printing. All of the images are high-quality scans of original postcards that I purchased. They’re ideal for art/junk journals, mixed media projects, wall art, and numerous other projects.
