How to use free printable vintage Christmas sheet music hymns

Most likely if you’re searching for free Christmas music to print, you already have an idea for a craft project or use for the music. If you need a little more inspiration, think about one or more of the following ideas:

  • Wall art. Vintage sheet music looks great framed or can be overlayed with virtually any type of transparent image to create one of a kind decor for the holiday season. I created the piece pictured above with an overlayed transparent nativity silhouette scene.
  • Christmas caroling. Create whimsical caroling books for your church or community choir with vintage versions of classic Christmas carols.
  • Tile coasters, using the technique I outline in my vintage sheet music botanical coasters post. Vintage sheet music is beautiful on its own or with images overlaid.
  • Home decor. In addition to wall art and tile coasters, there are numerous possibilities for creating vintage sheet music decor items such as Christmas ornaments, decorated mason jars, and decoupaged votive candles.
  • Glass or bottle cap magnets, using the technique for sheet music glass magnets.
  • Greeting cards. Vintage Christmas sheet music creates an ideal background for all sorts of holiday greeting cards.
  • Gift tags. Christmas sheet music is also a perfect backdrop for handmade gift tags.
  • Mixed media projects and art journals. Layer sheet music with paint, ink, stamps, and more to create art journal pages or mixed media art.
  • Scrapbooking. Vintage music creates whimsical backgrounds for both physical and digital scrapbooks. Old sheet music is also perfect for DIY scrapbook embellishments.

  1. If I can’t get my printer to work do you sell these already printed? I’m interested in the collection one of the Christmas hymns. Thanks.

    1. Unfortunately, at this time, I don’t offer physical prints of any of my hymns. If you can’t get your printer to work, you can send the downloaded files to any printing service, such as Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Costco, FedEx, etc. Thanks!

  2. Thank you for sharing these. I have lots of craft ideas in mind to use sheet music and authentic music is even better! I saw your “personal use” above and am wondering if that means you only want the music used for crafting for ourselves and creating gifts for others only OR we are allowed to use the music to create something we are planning on selling? I’m thinking of homemade ornaments or other crafty things using sheet music (not just selling the music as itself alone but creating some things such as jewelry or ornaments or signs with the music as the paper.) Is this permissible or is this something you don’t want people using this music for (creating crafts and selling)? I am an amateur artist myself, so I totally understand artwork and copyrights with all the work I put into my own art, but since this is music from the early 1900s, I just wondered if you were OK with one utilizing the music to create something new to sell. (SORRY this is so wordy and lengthy!) Thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas 🙂

  3. Hello Rose, Thank you so much for the printable Christmas pages. I am very interested in framing Silent Night! Holy Night! for my husband as it was my mother-in-law’s favorite Christmas hymn. Can you tell me how you were able to print your framed example of O Come, All Ye Faithful with the nativity in shadow overlaid onto the sheet music?

  4. Hi Rose! The first set of sheet music is really striking to me because I think it’s a book my mom used to have, that she really loved! Do you know the title or any other info that would help me locate a copy and give her a merry Christmas? Thank you so much!!!
